£160,000-a-week Liverpool star could now make unexpected exit this summer - BBC

Liverpool star Andy Robertson could be on his way out of Anfield after a slightly underwhelming personal season for the Reds star, according to reports - with his exit being a 'possibility' amid interest from clubs across Europe as the Premier League champions aim to shake up their team.

Jeremie Frimpong has already signed for Liverpool, replacing the Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold in late May - whilst his ex-Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz is also expected to join. But it won't just be a summer of incomings for Liverpool - and that could see Robertson axed from the squad to make way for new recruits.

The report by BBC journalists, Sami Mokbel and Gary Rose, states that left-back is an area that Liverpool wish to strengthen, with Milos Kerkez being targeted from Bournemouth after his solid campaign in the Premier League.

Though there has been no agreement just yet between the clubs, the Reds have stepped up their efforts to land the Hungarian - with director Richard Hughes having signed Kerkez whilst he was in a similar capacity on the south coast two seasons ago. As a result, his arrival would raise questions over Robertson's future, alongside Kostas Tsimikas - with Arne Slot unlikely to need all three left-backs next season.

And, despite Tsimikas being the expected departure from Merseyside after rumours linking him with the likes of Leeds United, the report from the BBC states that there is Champions League interest in Robertson - and his exit is now a 'possibility'.

Robertson joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 from Hull City, costing them just £8million - and he's certainly proved value for money, racking up 342 appearances for the club with 11 goals and an astonishing 67 assists to boot.

Two Premier League trophies, two League Cup winners' medals, an FA Cup and three Champions League finals - including one win in Madrid - have seen him become one of the most decorated Scottish footballers in the modern era. However, at the age of 31, Robertson could be moved on from his £160,000-per-week contract to make space for younger players to end his legacy on Merseyside.
