Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has been linked with a move to Manchester United
We may only be in the short, additional transfer window made possible by the Club World Cup, but already there has been enough action to surpass the January market.
Manchester United have wasted little time cracking on with their business having had one of their worst campaigns for decades. Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha became their first addition on June 1 to kick off the summer spending.
Then, United were left with their hearts in their mouths after Bruno Fernandes was left 'seriously considering' a switch to Al Hilal. Fortunately for fans of the captain, the midfielder dismissed this offer and has ensured all concerned that he will be at Old Trafford next season.
But what next for United? MEN Sport have given our opinion on what we would do next in the window.
Martinez transfer
He is perhaps one of the most polarising goalkeepers in the country but you cannot argue that Emiliano Martinez has managed to lead his field for several years. While he is now 32 and he didn't quite cover himself in glory on the final day of the season, the Aston Villa shot stopper could provide United with some much-needed competition for Andre Onana.
Reports in Argentina suggest that United have contacted Martinez regarding a move and if Altay Bayindir departs, the Reds would be right to sign a 'keeper that can compete with Onana instead of being a distant No.2. The added competition for Onana would only be of benefit to the Cameroonian and should hopefully eradicate some of the complacency in that position which we saw this season.
Mbeumo arrival
As reported earlier today by the Manchester Evening News,United have taken their first step towards signing Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. Not necessarily the candidate that many would have envisioned United to go after this summer but, he offers the Reds more versatility.

The Cameroonian has played centrally for Brentford in his time at the club and while he is, naturally, a right-sided winger, he could fit into Ruben Amorim's system. United will be cautious not to overspend for Mbeumo but a fee of £60m could be enough.
Currently, United have offered £45m, plus a further £10m in add-ons. Clearly, the two clubs are not far off a deal.
Sancho exit
Having failed to reach terms with Chelsea, Jadon Sancho will be returning to Old Trafford but for how long, time will only tell. Ultimately, United need to be making his exit the priority this summer.
While the Reds also want to sell Marcus Rashford and Antony, Sancho's clear unhappiness at United means he should be the first player to be sold this summer. A move to Germany could be an option albeit Bayer Leverkusen looks highly unlikely.

but whether it is here or abroad, United need to secure that £25m to continue with their business.
New target emerges
Once the above is completed, United should be turning their full focus onto a centre-forward. The obvious option would be Viktor Gyokeres considering his past relationship with Amorim.
Arsenal's current interest in Benjamin Sesko should give United the incentive to approach Gyokeres and get that deal done. However, at least the sale of Sancho should fund an approach for Gyokeres.
Neither Cunha nor Mbeumo fit that centre-forward role perfectly and, as such, all focus should be put on the 27-year-old once the deal for Brentford's talisman is confirmed.
