Liverpool have just said goodbye to one of their best academy graduates in recent memory, Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Arne Slot tried to keep Alexander-Arnold on board at Liverpool, but as a result of his departure, the Reds will somewhat turn to Conor Bradley.
Jeremie Frimpong has been signed from Bayer Leverkusen, a former Xabi Alonso favourite who will start a lot of games.
But the club’s Northern Irish academy right-back will also get his fair share of chances too, explaining why Liverpool handed Bradley a new contract.
Under Slot, Liverpool will continue to look towards Kirkby, and there could now be good news for fans on Merseyside.
Liverpool making way for a new crop of youngsters at Kirkby
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has just provided an insight into why Liverpool are ‘excited’ about the situation in their academy.
Jayden Danns, Tyler Morton and James McConnell are all about to be moved on according to Bailey, but there’s still reason to be optimistic.

Asked to highlight the top young talents coming through in the Premier League right now, Bailey looked to Liverpool saying: “If I was picking one, I know that Liverpool are ready to bring a batch through that can be like Arne’s boys.
“I’ve been told that they’re expecting a new stream of youth talent as it were.
“The likes of Danns, Morton and McConnell are a few of them who are going to be moving on.
“So Liverpool are making room for a new batch of youngsters. I think Liverpool are excited about what’s coming.
“I know there’s a right-back at Liverpool who they really like.”
Therefore, Liverpool might even have another Alexander-Arnold replacement potentially on the horizon.
Who are Liverpool’s best academy graduates of all time?
Obviously Alexander-Arnold has already been mentioned, but when considering who is the best to have come through at Liverpool, Steven Gerrard takes the crown.
Gerrard joined Liverpool at the age of eight and made 710 appearances for the club, scoring 185 goals in the process.
And speaking of goals, it’s impossible to not also mention the likes of Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen.
To this day, Ian Callaghan is still Liverpool’s all-time record appearance-maker, clocking up 857 games in red.
And whilst Liverpool’s next crop are unlikely to reach that level of stardom, there’s clearly reason to be excited at Anfield right now — a side who are thriving in all areas.
