This summer is already shaping up to be a seismic one for , with right-back already through the door and concrete links emerging to Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez and Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.

's side may be champions, but there are undoubtedly areas of the squad that can be strengthened, something the Reds' recruitment team appears to be actively addressing. Exactly how Liverpool will line up at the start of next season remains to be seen, with several big decisions still to be made on both incomings and outgoings.

The likes of and have been linked with exits amid interest from the Saudi Pro League and other European clubs, while a number of fringe players also face uncertain futures. If the latest rumours are to be believed, a striker and a centre-back could still be on the agenda, even if deals for Kerkez and Wirtz are completed.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at the transfers we would make if we were in a position of power at Liverpool...

Nunez and Diaz decisions

While there appear to be question marks over the futures of almost all of Liverpool’s current attackers - apart from Mohamed Salah, who recently signed a new deal - it would be surprising to see the club sanction moves for too many of them, as they will be eager to avoid an overly extensive rebuild this summer.

It's easy to imagine a scenario where Liverpool consider high offers for one or two players before ruling out departures for the rest. While Cody Gakpo is reportedly attracting interest from Bayern Munich, both Diaz and Nunez are also wanted by clubs in the Saudi Pro League, who are among the few capable of offering fees that might tempt Liverpool to the negotiating table.

Should sales in forward areas materialise, the Reds would likely need to re-enter the market to reinforce those positions. Alexander Isak and Julian Alvarez are considered unattainable this summer, while Hugo Ekitike continues to be linked in the media, despite also drawing interest from Chelsea.

Who Liverpool target in attack, should departures occur, will be fascinating, especially with competition high due to several Premier League rivals also actively seeking attacking reinforcements. Transfermarkt values Diaz in the region of €70million (£58.9m) and Nunez around €45million (£37.9m), equating to around £96.8m combined and offers in the region for both would likely make Liverpool consider their futures.

Centre-back question

The heart of defence is another area under scrutiny this summer, with many supporters hoping Ibrahima Konate will commit his long-term future to Anfield by signing a new contract. The Frenchman is entering the final year of his current deal, and losing another key player in his prime for free, just a year after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid, would be a significant blow.

According to widespread reports, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez are the two most likely to depart. Kostas Tsimikas could also be deemed surplus to requirements, particularly if Kerkez does indeed join the club in the coming weeks.

Given that a case can be made for signing a centre-back regardless of outgoings, the departure of either Quansah or Gomez should absolutely prompt Liverpool to act in the market. The Reds missed out on Dean Huijsen earlier this summer, with the 20-year-old opting to join Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Dutch teenager Jorrel Hato remains a name to watch, with ongoing links to both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Raising funds

While potential incomings continue to dominate the headlines, Liverpool will also be looking to offload several fringe players in order to recoup funds. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has already completed a move to Brentford and is unlikely to be the last player out the door.

Speculation continues to swirl around Harvey Elliott’s future, and his emotional reaction on the final day of the 2024/25 season may have hinted at a potential exit. That said, the 22-year-old still has time on his side, and the tactical shift towards incorporating a more creative No.10, evidenced by the pursuit of Wirtz, could suit Elliott well if the two are to share minutes.

Tyler Morton, Ben Doak, and Stefan Bajcetic are also among those with big decisions looming over their futures. All three could command respectable fees, while young talents like Jayden Danns, James McConnell, and Trey Nyoni might benefit from loan moves to gain valuable experience.
