Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is once again dealing with an injury, and many fans believe the latest issue is one the former first-round pick may not come back from — at least with his current team.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced on Thursday that Richardson will not take part in minicamp next week due to a shoulder injury. Richardson has apparently aggravated the AC joint in his right shoulder, which is an injury that has impacted the former Florida star throughout his first two NFL seasons.
After Steichen announced the news, fans predicted that Richardson has played his last snap as a member of the Colts.

Richardson first injured his throwing shoulder midway through his rookie season in 2023. He suffered a sprained AC joint while being tackled on a designed run play, and he eventually underwent surgery. He was banged up again last season and drew criticism for the admission he made after subbing himself out of one game.
The Colts were confident enough in Richardson’s abilities to draft him with the No. 4 overall pick two years ago. His career has not gotten off to a good start, as he has thrown 11 touchdown passes compared to 13 interceptions in 15 career games.
Daniel Jones signed with the Colts as a free agent this offseason and is competing with Richardson for the Week 1 starting job. Unless Richardson can find a way to get healthy, there will not be much of a competition.
