Washington Commanders' star wide receiver Terry McLaurin comes off one of the best seasons of his six-year NFL career. The veteran didn't have the best time playing with Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins, Colt McCoy, Alex Smith, Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Garrett Gilbert, Carson Wentz and Sam Howell, prompting many fans to think he wouldn't unlock his potential in Washington.
The arrival of Jayden Daniel was a huge blessing for McLaurin, who revived his career in 2024, became the clear WR1 for the former LSU player and formed a remarkable duo with the rookie.
McLaurin caught 82 passes (second-best in his career), racking up 1,096 yards (third-best) and a career-best 13 touchdowns, helping the Commanders boast a 12-5 record (second in the NFC East division), advance to the playoffs for the first time since 2020 and go all the way to the conference championship game.
The Philadelphia Eagles dominated them with a 55-23 win, but the Commanders made a strong impression and let the league know that they are coming.

After such a memorable season, McLaurin wants his talents and performances rewarded with a new deal. He's entering the final year of his three-year, $68.3 million rookie extension, but the lack of communication about a new deal has frustrated the six-year veteran.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Thursday that McLaurin is frustrated with the team, as they haven't made any progress regarding a new long-term contract. He unexpectedly left voluntary OTAs, and now his presence at the mandatory workouts is anything but certain.
Many fans reacted to this report by urging the capital team to give the wide receiver what he wants after he proved his value alongside Daniels.
"pay him," one fan said.
"Pay the man," another fan wrote.
"Sucks he deserves a fat contract," a third fan wrote.
"pay the man!" a fourth fan added.
"Man they need to give bro what he wants he’s stuck with them through thin and thin and he performs. Club legend, don’t disrespect," a fifth fan said.
"He’s never hurt and balls out. Why would anyone hesitate to pay him?" a sixth fan questioned.
The Commanders have an encouraging team and an ambitious coach in Dan Quinn. If they keep making the right moves, this squad can become a serious threat to the Eagles.
It remains to be seen if they'll offer a new contract to McLaurin before training camp, but the situation isn't that positive at the moment.
