The Pittsburgh Steelers have cut ties with safety Joshuah Bledsoe to sign safety Quindell Johnson, the team announced on Thursday.
Bledsoe was signed by the team in January, but lasted just four months with the team. Now, Johnson, who is a three-year NFL veteran, joins the group, hopeful of his chances to make the roster.
Bledsoe was a sixth-round pick by the Patriots in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the team, but failed to even get onto a practice squad during the 2024 season after being cut in August.
Bledsoe signed with the San Antonio Brhamas before landing with the Steelers. Through three seasons, Bledsoe has just one tackle in his NFL career.
He played at Missouri from 2017 to 2020, racking up 130 tackles and one interception during his time with the Tigers. Johnson profiled as a strong safety, while Johnson can play both safety spots.
Johnson was with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason when he was signed to a reserve/future contract. However, the team released him on May 13, and now he heads to Pittsburgh.
