West Ham are set for a summer of change at the London Stadium, as Graham Potter prepares to put his own stamp on things.

With limited resources available during the winter transfer window, Potter will be hoping for more movement before the new campaign.

However, with PSR restrictions breathing down the neck of Premier League sides, the Hammers may look to offload some of their squad to generate the money to bring new faces in.

Mohammed Kudus could be leaving West Ham

After a poor season at the London Stadium, it is clear that several changes are needed in East London.

Although Mohammed Kudus had a strong debut season in Claret and Blue, the 24-year-old struggled to hit similar heights this term.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

With his side performing poorly, Kudus has made it clear that he is ready for a move away from the Irons, and West Ham know that cashing in could help them financially.

The attacker would be keen on a move to Liverpool, although the Premier League champions seem to be setting their sights higher.

Nevertheless, Arsenal have been linked with a move, and Chelsea are eager to strike a deal too.

The Blues want a cut-price deal, though, in the hope of securing Kudus ahead of the Club World Cup.

The Ghanaian’s £85million release clause does not activate until July, meaning an early move would cause the Hammers to miss out.

However, Martin Allen’s reaction to the £85m release clause suggests that David Sullivan may be better to cash in now.

Allen posted on X (5 June): “£85million release clause for Kudus??? Lol.”

West Ham to cash in on Kudus

If Chelsea do make a move for Kudus soon, West Ham cannot afford to be stubborn and instead should be prepared to cash in.

Although they would have to accept a lower cost than the £85m clause, it’s unlikely that any side will be willing to pay that much after the season he has had.

Furthermore, bringing a fair amount of money in would allow Potter to turn his attention to those whom he would like to recruit, with money there to spend immediately.

Sullivan has to be prepared to give the manager the support he needs to get the right faces in this summer, with a serious increase in quality needed to push further up the table next term.
