Manchester United could spring a surprise in the transfer market, according to reports from Argentina - with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez not being ruled out for a move to Old Trafford to fix their goalkeeping woes that have been prevalent throughout the campaign.
Andre Onana has had a season littered with errors at the Theatre of Dreams, which saw him dropped for Turkish backup Altay Bayindir at certain points throughout the Premier League season - but with the former Fenerbahce star failing to fare better than his counterpart, it's highlighted a need for a stopper in the coming months - with Martinez potentially in United's sights.

The report by Argentine outlet TyC Sports states that Martinez could say goodbye to Villa in the summer transfer window - and United could be one of the teams interested in signing the Argentine World Cup winner should he become available on the market.

It's further thought that Martinez's departure from Villa Park 'won't be easy', especially with Unai Emery's men likely to demand a high price for the former Arsenal star due to his importance to their squad over the past few years, being dubbed 'world-class' in the process.
No official offer has been made public from any side, whilst La Liga champions Barcelona have scouted him - but the strongest interest has still come from the Premier League giants, with United's offer potentially tempting Martinez to stay in the English top-flight.
And United, according to the report, contacted Martinez six months ago - though they opted to stick with Onana, who could be on his way out of Old Trafford this season after a rut of errors.
The Cameroonian has featured in 50 games for United this season, keeping 11 clean sheets and conceding 65 goals in all competitions - though it ended in a trophyless campaign for the Red Devils, including their worst-ever Premier League finish that saw them end up an astonishing 23 points away from securing a Europa Conference League spot.
Martinez could turn that around, having only conceded 61 goals and keeping 16 clean sheets in 53 games for Villa - though given that he's turning 33 in September, it could be a short-term solution for Ruben Amorim.
