The manager situation at Leicester is still an open affair. Ruud van Nistelrooy is of course still in charge, but said to be back in Holland. He is on a running contract at Leicester until June 2027. Rumours comes and goes for different candidates being talked up and down as the days goes by.
Last summer’s speculations included the name of Steve Cooper. His name was in and out. There was a certain Graham Potter being in the mix for a long time. Today it became official. The next manager talked up at Leicester, Russell Martin, has taken on the vacant position at Rangers. A new name has appeared high on the bookies list as they track on.
Soccervoice report on Roberto Mancini hints that he could be an alternative somewhere down the road. We all know his relation to the club. Leicester have run well under former Italian managers. Claudio Ranieri and Enzo Maresca. The former Leicester player has been linked with several positions and might be in pole position for the Inter job. He earlier on missed out on vacant positions as AC Milan and Juventus.
The silence annoye certain parts of the Leicester fanbase. They must learn to accept that life at a football club doesn’t always go fully out in the open. This happens when there are no news. Impatient fans are of course waiting for a solution to this special situation.

The club currently has a man in charge. Almost every news station in England understands Ruud van Nistelrooy is finished. This situation still feels strange, to see this taking so long to at least get a message out. But as we all know PSR and FFP can play a part in this scenario.
To see the club in struggles with PSR and FFP season in and season out. Having problems with managers coming and going, makes it all a messy place to be at the moment. There are also great uncertainty about players leaving as a great number is out of contract after next season.
We all had to wait a while for Enzo Maresca to be appointed. We also waited for Steve Cooper to take the role. However, the situation this time is a bit different. There is still a man in the position as manager at this football club.
The list of candidates are much the same. With Russell Martin out of the picture, you will find Danny Rohl and Sean Dyche in the frame. Michael Carrick is currently getting higher on the list as he is vacant after getting the sack at Middlesbrough.
We have earlier mentioned Man City development coach, Ben Wilkinson as a grand alternative. He is one of the brightest young manager prospects in the game at this time.
