Tommy Doyle is looking likely to be on his way out of Molineux this summer after falling out of favour with Wolves boss Vitor Pereira.
The 23-year-old, who came through the ranks at Manchester City, still has plenty of suitors across the top end of the English game; however, with the play-off final pairing of Sunderland and Sheffield United being two sides set to be interested in acquiring Doyle for the new season, according to TeamTalk.
One other side mentioned in the report is a newly promoted Championship side, as ambitious Wrexham have seemingly thrown their name in the hat too, as they look to make a splash in their first season back in the second tier since 1982.
Wolves are even keen to make a loss on the £4.3 million they paid for Doyle just last summer, as the midfielder may be allowed to leave for as little as £3 million.
If this proves to be the case, FLW'sWrexham fan pundit, Liam Grice, is desperate for his club to up their interest in Doyle this summer.
Doyle would be one of Wrexham's "better players" according to fan pundit
Tommy Doyle at Wolves
Speaking to Football League World on Wrexham's links to Tommy Doyle, Grice said: "With him being 23 and with how versatile he is, I think £3 million could be quantified as a bargain for him.
"He's a great player who hasn't been given an opportunity to impress at Wolves, and he'd certainly be one of our better players."
After an impressive loan spell at Molineux during the 2023/24 season, Doyle hasn't been able to repeat that form this campaign, especially since Vitor Pereira took over from Gary O'Neil in December.

Doyle made just one Premier League start under the former Porto boss and missed the final nine games of the season completely.
"His wages might be a little bit high, but we are going to have to spend money if we are to stay in the Championship this season.
"He's young, Championship-proven and a quality midfielder - he'd be a real step in the right direction," Grice added.
Signing Tommy Doyle would prove that Wrexham mean business ahead of the Championship season
Tommy Doyle
Before his move to Wolves in 2023, Tommy Doyle was a part of the Sheffield United side that secured Premier League promotion in the 2022/23 campaign. Doyle made 33 Championship appearances and even contributed to four goals in their FA Cup semi-final run that season, including two assists in the 3-3 draw with Wrexham in the fourth round.
Evidently, Doyle is at least Championship standard, if not still Premier League ready, hence why Sunderland are rumoured to be linked with him.
Grice knows that, despite the pull which Wrexham have, a transfer battle with the likes of Sheffield United and Sunderland is likely one that they won't win right now. However, he sees this as a good thing.
"We do have competition from Premier League and top-end Championship sides, but those are the teams you want to be competing with for signings rather than signing players from League One and Two.
"Do I expect to get him if Sunderland and Sheffield United are linked? Probably not, but he'd be a hell of a signing."
