Saints Open Pre Season Fixture Programme With Visit To Eastleigh

Southampton will once again open their pre season programme with the short trip to the Silverlake Stadium to take on Eastleigh in what is going to be Will Still's first game in charge of the team.
It's no surprise that Saints will make the short trip along Stoneham Lane to take on Eastleigh, after all last season's pre season started with the very same fixture, a game which saw a 7-1 victory for the visitors, it could actually have reached double figures, in front of a bumper crowd with the majority being Saints supporters.
Adam Armstrong scored twice with Will Smallbone, Sekou Mara, Ryan Manning, Yuki Sugawara and Charly Alcaraz all getting on the scoresheet and with 2 of those having left permanently and a 3rd in Adam Armstrong playing the second half of the season on loan, it could be a much changed squad from last year.
The game will take place this time on a Saturday , July 12th with a 3pm kick off.
The Southampton pre season programme is already taking shape and to add to this and the home friendly against Brighton three weeks later, there is a training camp in Europe planned alongside several other friendlies to be announced.
