On Thursday, the annual major offseason drama that is Aaron Rodgers came to a conclusion before mandatory minicamp next week. Rodgers has been tied to several teams this offseason, including the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers, two teams that will play each other this season.
There was also talk of Rodgers retiring as a member of the Green Bay Packers. That won’t happen this year, as the former Packers’ quarterback made his decision to return to the NFL in 2025.

Per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Rodgers is set to sign with the Steelers before mandatory camp next week.
“Renegade A-Rod: Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers informed theSteelers he’ll fly to Pittsburgh on Friday and sign before next week’s minicamp, sources tell The Insiders,” Pelissero posted on X. “Finally, a done deal: Rodgers, 41, will play his 21st NFL season in black and gold.”

The Green Bay Packers will play Rodgers in October

Only five players have won back-to-back NFL MVP awards. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the last to do it in 2020-2021.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur called it. He sent a warning to Rodgers about stealing signals before the Packers-Steelers matchup at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Oct. 26.
“While (Rodgers) can tell them, but who knows? You know, it could be a double move off that signal,” LaFleur told Chris Simms of Pro Football Talk recently. “You just never know. You gotta be careful.”
The Packers are for sure going to see a Pittsburgh team with Rodgers returning to the league this season. It’s the first time Rodgers will play Green Bay since he was traded from the team in the 2023 offseason.
