Gabriel, who joined Arsenal from Lille in 2020 for £27 million, has been a cornerstone of Mikel Arteta’s project, forming a world-class partnership with William Saliba.
His new deal, negotiated by sporting director Andrea Berta, wards off interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, including Al-Nassr, who offered to triple his £100,000-per-week wages with a tax-free €20-€25 million per year deal. Gabriel’s decision to stay underscores his loyalty to Arsenal’s vision, having previously rejected similar Saudi interest in 2023.

This season, Gabriel has excelled, contributing five goals and three assists in 42 appearances, his aerial dominance and set-piece threat proving vital.
Despite a recent hamstring injury, his consistent performances have made him indispensable. The contract extension, originally set to run until 2027, reflects Arsenal’s strategy to secure key players like Bukayo Saka and Saliba, ensuring stability amid their title chase.
Fans on X erupted with excitement, with posts praising Gabriel’s commitment as “huge for the club.” His Instagram story has fuelled anticipation for an imminent announcement, possibly within days.
The deal cements Gabriel’s role as a leader in Arteta’s squad, with his partnership with Saliba lauded as one of the Premier League’s best.
As Arsenal push to end their trophy drought, Gabriel’s decision to stay signals their ambition to compete at the highest level, with fans eagerly awaiting confirmation of his long-term commitment.
