According to Tom Pelissero:
"Renegade A-Rod: Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers informed the #Steelers he'll fly to Pittsburgh on Friday and sign before next week's minicamp, sources tell The Insiders. Finally, a done deal: Rodgers, 41, will play his 21st NFL season in black and gold."

Rodgers is set to sign a one-year deal with the Steelers, according to Ian Rapoport, though the details of the contract have yet to be released. It would be believed his deal could be over $10 million and be laden with performance incentives.
This is huge news for the Steelers, who were waiting to see what Rodgers would do. Though the team waited patiently, it was getting to the point where they may have had to look elsewhere for a proven veteran.
It would also be believed that Steelers brass might have known Rodgers' intentions all along, but were waiting for the news to be official before stating anything. Many pundits, experts, fans, and more weighed in on the situation, and there was the belief that he was also heavily considering retirement.
Rodgers will instead give his career one more year as a member of the Steelers. In 2024, Pittsburgh had Justin Fields starting for the first six games, and he was then replaced by Russell Wilson for the remainder of the season.
Fields shined in the first six games, going 4-2, before Wilson took over. Fields' performance led to him landing a deal with the New York Jets and becoming Rodgers' replacement.
Wilson also had some flashes but struggled to keep the Steelers afloat, as the team suffered five straight losses, including losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wildcard Round of the playoffs.
Wilson has since joined the New York Giants. The Steelers also benefit from the Rodgers signing greatly, as the quarterback room currently consists of Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson.
Rudolph is a proven veteran and did decently while taking over starting duties from Will Levis while a member of the Tennessee Titans in 2024. However, Rudolph is not a high-caliber starter.
Howard is also a rookie, and Thompson was mediocre as a member of the Miami Dolphins. Now, Rodgers will take over and command an offense that includes Jaylen Warren, DK Metcalf, Robert Woods, and Pat Freiermuth.
The hope is Rodgers can help propel the Steelers to a playoff berth and more, as the 2025 season could be his last.
