The Dutchman was loved by his players there, and he delivered an Eredivisie title during his time at De Kuip in Rotterdam.
Frimpong spoke to Slot before joining Liverpool, and the manager’s words convinced him to make a move to Anfield.
Furthermore, the defender spoke to some of the Feyenoord players in the Dutch national team, and their verdict on Slot made his decision easier.
Speaking about Slot, Frimpong told SoccerNews.nl: “He gave me good energy and positive vibes. I also know that he is a good manager, so I can’t wait to play under him.
“I knew that he won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord. And of course, we also have some Feyenoord boys in the Dutch national team. They told me good things about him.
“They told me that he is a very caring manager, he encourages you and is close to the players. The latter is very good for a player; I had that same bond with Xabi Alonso.”

Xabi Alonso and Slot don’t play the same system, but there are a few similarities.
Frimpong will be given the freedom to attack even though he will not be a wing-back at Liverpool, and the Dutchman’s attacking numbers under Alonso in the last two seasons suggest that he will be a success at Anfield as well.
