Aaron Rodgers has finally given the Pittsburgh Steelers an answer, and it is safe to assume at least one franchise icon is not happy about the quarterback’s decision.
Rodgers has informed the Steelers that he will fly to Pittsburgh and sign with them before the start of mandatory minicamp, which is on Tuesday. The news of Rodgers agreeing to a deal with the Steelers was hardy a surprise, but Terry Bradshaw thinks his former team has made a mistake.
Bradshaw unloaded on the Steelers last week for pursuing Rodgers. The four-time Super Bowl champion called the situation a “joke” and even hurled a personal insult at Rodgers.
After the news about Rodgers agreeing to a deal with the Steelers surfaced, fans all made the same joke about Rodgers potentially wearing Bradshaw’s No. 12 in Pittsburgh.
What number will Aaron Rodgers wear? Terry Bradshaw will go nuclear if they give him No. 12. 😂 #Steelers #NFL

I’m dying of laughter right now. Terry Bradshaw is probably about to challenge Rodgers to a street fight on Raw next Monday over this. 😂🤷♂️ https://t.co/RUaBvHSvAL

Rodgers wore No. 12 with the Green Bay Packers, but he switched to No. 8 (his college number) after he was traded to the New York Jets. No. 12 is retired with the Jets for Joe Namath, and Rodgers chose not to wear it even though Namath gave his blessing.
The Steelers have not retired No. 12, but it has not been issued since Bradshaw last wore the number with the team in 1983. Rodgers will likely stick with No. 8 or choose a different number with Pittsburgh, but we doubt he will wear No. 12.
While there are plenty of other people who feel the Steelers are making a mistake by signing Rodgers, Bradshaw may have a personal vendetta against the 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback.
