The Vegas Insider ranked how negative all 30 NBA fan bases were. How high or low were the Dallas Mavericks?
According to an analysis of over 1.3 million Reddit comments collected over the 2024-2025 season, Mavericks fans are the most vulgar and most negative fans in the league.
All 30 fan bases were ranked by the percentage of vulgar language found in each comment and the number of positive and negative comments for each team.
Fans of the Mavericks led the study in negative comments, with 32.41% of all comments containing negativity. Of that percentage, 7.25% of the comments included vulgar language. According to the study, the f-word was the most-used swear word by Mavericks fans.
Mavericks fans ranked 20th for positivity among all fan bases, with 42.95% of their Reddit comments viewed as positive. Utah Jazz fans were deemed the most positive, with the majority of their comments (54.18%) being positive.
The reasoning for negativity among the Dallas Mavericks fan base could be due to an unpopular trade the Mavericks made back in February when they traded five-time All-Star Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, hope in the organization could be renewed as it is expected the Mavericks will select Duke forward Cooper Flagg with the first pick in this year’s draft later this month.
