Newcastle United submit enquiry for €60 million-rated Chelsea attacker

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have enquired about the availability of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke ahead of a potential transfer.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Newcastle United want to further bolster their attack this summer and they are interested in the services of Chelsea’s Noni Madueke. The Magpies have approached the London club to learn more about a potential transfer this summer.

Madueke came up the ranks at PSV Eindhoven and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining the Blues at the start of 2023. He has only gone from strength to strength since making the move to Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old has featured in a total of 87 games since joining them and has contributed towards 29 goals. While he has been a touch inconsistent on occasions, he has still been a very important squad player for them.

The English international is an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans moving forward and his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2030. The Blues do not have any immediate plans of cashing in on him but Newcastle are still willing to try their luck.

Eddie Howe wants Madueke at Newcastle

The Magpies are looking to add more quality on the flanks this summer after winning the Carabao Cup and securing a spot in the next season’s Champions League. They want to bolster the wide areas and are interested in signing Noni Madueke, who has a similar playing style to that of Anthony Gordon.

The 23-year-old has the pace and excels at taking on defenders and dribbling past them. He is exactly the kind of winger Howe wants. His arrival could help Newcastle form a dependable front three alongside Alexander Isak and Gordon.

While Chelsea are not looking to sell him, Newcastle have knocked on their doors to learn about the conditions of a potential transfer in this window. The report suggests Chelsea could be open to negotiations if they receive an offer of around €60 million.

The Tyneside club value him at around €40-42 million, as a result, it will be interesting to see if they do actually move ahead with their interest in Madueke. A move to Newcastle could actually work in the 23-year-old’s favour, as he would likely be a guaranteed starter under Howe, something he isn’t assured of at the London club, who are expected to sign multiple wingers this summer.
