Saints Head Coach Shuts Down Chris Olave Trade Rumors

The New Orleans Saints are going to look a whole lot different heading into the NFL's 2025 season.

First-year head coach Kellen Moore agreed to become the next head coach for the Saints after helping lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX victory as the team's offensive coordinator.

Moore has developed some of the most impressive high-power teams in recent years, serving as the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator from 2019-2024.

He's now taken on the task of being the head coach of the Saints, and has some work to do in turning the franchise around.

After finishing the 2024 season in last place in the NFC South with a 5-12 record, Moore will try to help the Saints reach the playoffs after the team hasn't seen the postseason since 2020.

However, it will be a long process with the Saints' starting quarterback of the past few years. Derek Carr, announced his retirement on May 10.

After drafting Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, there's been speculation on what moves New Orleans will take moving forward.

Kellen Moore shuts down Chris Olave trade rumors

One topic of discussion is in wide receiver Chris Olave as there have been trade rumors emerging in recent weeks.

Coach Moore shot down the the idea of the Saints moving 24-year-old Olave before the start of the 2025 season.

"I wouldn't worry too much about that. We feel really, really good about Chris. He's had an excellent offseason, he's had an excellent career so far, and he's going to have an excellent future," he told reporters on Thursday.

Olave struggled to stay on the field in 2024 after suffering multiple concussions in Week 6 and 9 that eventually landed him on the IR and never returned to the playing field for the Saints last season.

It seems that the talks on Olave aren't anything but rumors as Kellen Moore and the New Orleans Saints take on the 2025 season.
