Manchester City have been granted permission to conduct a medical for £46.3million midfielder Tijjani Reijnders on Sunday, despite the Dutchman still officially being part of Ronald Koeman's Netherlands' squad. Koeman, a close ally of City manager [Pep Guardiola](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/pep-guardiola), has allowed Reijnders to be tested on Sunday, less than 24 hours after the Netherlands face Finland in Helsinki.
It remains uncertain whether the 26-year-old will jet off to Manchester privately or if City will dispatch a team of medics to the KNVB's training camp just outside Zeist. The Netherlands have another qualifier against Malta in Groningen on Tuesday night, where Reijnders is anticipated to play. City have struck a deal with both Milan and the player following his 15-goal haul for the Italian club.
The Blues are eager to wrap up the transfer swiftly so that Guardiola can include Reijnders in his squad for the Club World Cup in the United States.
City are aiming to have at least three new players ready for the tournament. They've agreed terms with Lyon's attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki and Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Both are set to arrive at the Etihad in deals worth approximately £35million and are also expected to undergo medicals in the coming days despite being on international duty with France and Algeria respectively.
France faced Spain in the Nations League on Thursday night and won 5-4 to secure a spot in Sunday's final against Portugal.
Ait-Nouri did not play for Algeria against Rwanda on Thursday night but he will be available for the match in Sweden on Tuesday after completing his medical checks with City.
