Bill Belichick has become one of the most talked about coaches off the field this off-season. However, not many fans expected it to be over a 24-year-old girlfriend. Their relationship, that has been filled with drama, coupled with his contract buyout recently decreasing from 10 million to 1 million, has led the legendary coach to be linked to an NFL team.

Many believe that North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick is simply biding his time until the NFL calls again. According to one analyst, that team is already identified:
In early 2024, after he parted ways with the New England Patriots, Belichick could only get an interview with the Atlanta Falcons, who ultimately went in a different direction. This past year he signed on with the Tar Heels before the end of the NFL season.
But for ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, there’s one potential team to keep an eye on in 2025-26: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Florio explained that there have been rumors floated that Bucs head coach Todd Bowles might retire. He mused that the rumors were floated because it’s a job that Belichick covets and is trying to speak into existence.
Florio also pointed out that while Bowles is doing well in the job, anything can happen and the Bucs have a penchant for making wild decisions for their coaching staff.

“Even with all of the craziness that has happened of late, the Bucs can’t be ruled out as a potential destination for Belichick. Again, they hired Greg Schiano,” Florio wrote.
“Much of it depends on what the Bucs do (or don’t do) in 2025, and what the Tar Heels do (or don’t do) in 2025. Still, with Belichick’s buyout down to $1 million as of last Sunday, let’s not assume no one at the NFL level will want Belichick. The Bucs have the talent; if ownership decides that an excellent game-day coach could get them back to the top of the mountain, it’s not as nutty as it may seem.”
