Class of 92′ graduate, David Beckham, played for United a total of 394 times scoring 62 goals and assisting 83 times from his midfield position.

He was formidable down the right hand side of the field during the late 90’s and early 2000’s with fellow academy graduate Gary Neville.

Most famously, David Beckham was known for his long range passes and his immense set-piece ability. He could pinpoint a corner or free-kick directly onto an attackers head, leading to Old Trafford roars. One of his most famous moments was a wonderful free-kick goal to ensure England’s qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

David Beckham scored a series of world class goals for Manchester United, more notably his halfway line finish against AFC Wimbledon back in 1996, on the opening day of the Premier League season.

As well as his amazing career for Manchester United, David Beckham was capped a total of 115 times for England. Making him the third highest capped mens player in the country.

Beckham was named captain of the England team in 2000 and led the team through the 2002 World Cup and the 2006 World Cup, where England were knocked out in the quarter-finals.

Not only was Beckham known for his football ability, he also created a name for himself in the media. He became the face of Adidas’ predator silhouette, as well as a fashion icon, with his World Cup and European Championship haircuts being a topic of conversation.

The United legend has been awarded the UK’s highest honour in the King’s Birthday Honours list for 2025, a knighthood. He will now become Sir David Beckham, with his wife Victoria becoming known as, Lady Beckham.

The ex-footballer has been predicted to be awarded a Knighthood for numerous years, and this year he will finally be awarded the prestigious honour.

Throughout his football career at the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan, Beckham raised substantial amounts of money for various charities across the world, and has continued to do so following his football career.

Earlier last year, Beckham was appointed an ambassador to His Majesties charity, the King’s Foundation, which was a subtle sign of his now confirmed knighthood.

Everyone at Centredevils would like to send their congratulations to United legend David Beckham.
