New Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has lavished praise on soon-to-be Chelsea player Estevao Willian.
The teenager has been included in Ancelotti’s first squad as manager of the South American country, and when asked about Estevao in a press conference this week, Ancelotti was very complimentary about the forward:
“I knew Estevao, I didn’t see him in person, I only saw him on video, on TV. I saw what everyone sees: he has an extraordinary, special talent, but he’s young and has to learn things.”
“I got to know his character, he seems like a humble, good kid, with drive and personality. That seems good to me. I always say that young players have to be careful, be patient, just like he has to be patient to find his place. Obviously, he has all the characteristics to be an important player in the future of the national team.”
When will Estevao join Chelsea?
The 18-year-old will play for Palmeiras at the Club World Cup and he will arrive at Cobham after the Brazilian side’s participation in the tournament comes to an end.

As the final is on July 13th, fans may have to wait until well into pre-season before they can see him in Chelsea colours.
Ancelotti was also keen to praise another Chelsea player
Andrey Santos was also selected in Brazil’s squad, following his excellent season with Strasbourg in France. He will, though, return to Chelsea when his loan spell expires. Speaking about the player, Ancelotti said he was impressed with his performances in training:
“Andrey has a lot of quality, I didn’t know him very well. I’ve seen him in the last few days and he seems like a complete midfielder.”
Both Estevao and Santos could feature in Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay this week.
