Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their interest in Feyenoord winger Igor Paixão, emerging as strong contenders to sign the Brazilian this summer, according toThe Times.
The 24-year-old has been added to Mikel Arteta’s shortlist of attacking targets as the Gunners prepare to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign. Paixão enjoyed a standout season in the Eredivisie, netting 16 goals and registering several assists, while also impressing on the European stage with a Man of the Match performance against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Initial reports linking Arsenal to Paixão surfaced earlier this year, with scouts tracking his progress closely. A potential transfer fee is believed to be in the region of €30–€35 million.

Paixão’s versatility, capable of playing on either wing has made him an attractive option for Arsenal, who are seeking depth and competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. According toFootball.London, the Brazilian is viewed as a more financially viable alternative to high-profile targets such as Nico Williams, whose wage demands have proven to be a stumbling block.

Despite the widespread interest,Football Insider suggests that Arsenal’s financial strength and Champions League qualification could give them the upper hand, potentially derailing Leeds’ hopes.
Paixão, under contract at Feyenoord until 2029, has earned plaudits for his energy, creativity, and finishing ability. While no formal bids have yet been lodged, Arsenal’s ongoing scouting activity signals serious intent.
With the Gunners also targeting strikers such as Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, Mikel Arteta appears focused on adding firepower to his squad as he eyes a first major trophy since 2020 and a renewed Premier League title push.
