Bills' AFC East Rival Poised For Week 1 Revenge vs. Aaron Rodgers

The Buffalo Bills are well-positioned to win their sixth straight AFC East title. If they can accomplish that feat, they would increase the longest run to the title in franchise history.

The rest of the division appears to be a full step behind.

But …

That doesn't mean Buffalo should ignore what their rivals are doing.

In the case of one of those rivals, though, one of their former quarterbacks has found a new home.

And he is gearing for payback in Week 1.

With latest reports confirming that four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers is signing a free agent deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is the official end to an offseason of chaos and finger-pointing between the future Hall-of-Famer and the New York Jets.

New York's Week 1 opponent? Those same Steelers.

The fact that the NFL has the Steelers and Jets facing off to kick off the 2025 season is not an accident. Rodgers and Pittsburgh had been tied together since New York chose to release the quarterback in February.

It won't just be a revenge game for Rodgers against his former team, though.

Jets quarterback Justin Fields was benched by the Steelers last season despite a 4-2 record as a starter. Pittsburgh wanted a veteran in Russell Wilson leading the way.

Now, Fields is in the AFC East with the Jets. And he'll want to get started on the right foot against a team in the Steelers who have a new quarterback on their own.

Buffalo doesn't have to worry about any of this. It's a good reminder, though, of how their biggest rivals have revenge on their minds in their own right.
