Tomas Soucek to Leeds United transfer boost amid West Ham talks as Jose Mourinho favourite…

Leeds United are now over halfway through this summer's first summer transfer window.

The exceptional registration period for teams participating in the expanded Club World Cup, which started on Sunday, June 1, ends next Tuesday, June 10.

They have yet to announce any moves, albeit the window would ordinarily not open at this stage of a typical summer.

It will be on Monday, June 16, when business really begins for those not concerned about registering players for this summer's Stateside tournament.

However, there is, as always, no shortage of Leeds transfer news this month; below is a round-up of some of the biggest headlines:

Soucek successor sought

West Ham United are reportedly in talks with Club Brugge over potentially signing Raphael Onyedika as a replacement for Tomas Soucek.

Leeds reputedly admire the latter, who is said to be available for £20 million this summer.

The former is purportedly interested in moving to London, according to The Boot Room.

LeedsLive says: West Ham signing another midfielder before moving on Soucek would seemingly benefit the chances of Leeds being able to do a deal for the Czech Republic international.

TBR, though, reports AC Milan have Onyedika as a replacement for Manchester City-bound midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, so the Italian club potentially rivalling West Ham could impact the Whites.

Trio tracking Tanganga

All three newly promoted Premier League clubs are reportedly keen on moving for Japhet Tanganga this summer.

The trio are reputedly seriously considering formal approaches to sign the Millwall defender, who is said to have a release clause worth less than £2m.

LeedsLive says: The Whites signing Tanganga for less than half the initial circa £5m transfer fee they sold Rasmus Kristensen to Eintracht Frankfurt for would represent fine business from the club.

The two-time England under-21 international only turned 26 in late March and appears destined to become a Premier League player again after impressing over 18 months in the Championship.

Jose Mourinho gave him his Tottenham Hotspur debut in 2020 and described him as a "fantastic" kid they "believe a lot" in and want at the club for "many years".
