There will be a new look to the Man Utd side as they continue their rebuild under Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United remain in talks over a move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo as they look to add further attacking power to their first-team squad. It is understood United made an initial offer of £45million with a further £10million in add-ons that fell short of Brentford's valuation of the player.

Mbeumo has indicated he would like to move to Old Trafford this summer, with a proposed transfer viewed as the ideal next step in his professional career. United will return with a revised bid in the coming days and will hope to reach a compromise with Brentford, who are understood to what a fee in the same region as the £62.5 million that will be paid for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

Ruben Amorim prioritised the addition of Premier League proven players to his first-team squad this summer and is set to be boosted by the proposed arrival of a duo that netted 35 goals between them in the top-flight last season. Here is a look at how Mbeumo could fit in to the starting line up.

Bryan Mbeumo could form new partnership

Manchester United will have a new look attack next season with the planned arrival of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo along with the continued pursuit of a striker. It is further good news for supporters after it was revealed Bruno Fernandes would stay after he rejected a lucrative proposal to move to Saudi Arabia.

Add into the mix the availability of Joshua Zirkzee, Mason Mount, Amad Diallo and Mason Mount, and United have several different attacking options, despite the significant reduction in competitive matches. United played 60 matches across all competitions over the past campaign, but could play as few as 40 next season.

It begs the question how United will manage to fit all their attacking talent into the line up next season: the answer could be a fluid system with an emphasis on positional interchanges and plenty of rotation during a match. That might not be more apparent than in the case of Mbeumo, who is not only admired as an attacking midfielder, but also due to his ability to perform at wing-back.

He is a player in the same mould as Amad, who can play in either of the right-sided roles and who is capable of cutting inside or going out wide. It is a synergy and understanding between the that duo could form a deadly partnership on the same flank. It would not be a surprise if Mbeumo started the match as an attacking midfielder, before switching roles with Amad in-game, much to the torment of opposition defences tasked with trying to contain them.

Ruben Amorim believes it is crucial to have at least one left-footed player in the forward line who can open up different passing avenues and attacking angles and it would add a new dimension to the United side if they had two creative threats together on the same side to provide even more variety to their attacks.

Rather than stunt the development of Amad, Mbeumo could make him even better.
