The latest Manchester City and Manchester United transfer news
Summer transfer business is in full swing across Manchester with the red and blue half of the city both working to improve their respective squads ahead of next season.
Manchester City book Rayan Aït-Nouri medical
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says that Wolves left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri is set to have his medical at City on Saturday, as Pep Guardiola looks to get the player on board ahead of the Club World Cup.
Sky Sports reported that a fee of £33.7m has been agreed between Wolves and City. The Manchester outfit must have Aït-Nouri on board before the first part of the window closes on June 10 to get him in their squad for the Club World Cup.
The player was asked about a potential move to Man City while on international duty and said: “For now I am concentrating on Algeria national team, the important thing is the two next matches, we will see how it goes, honestly, I do not know at all, we will see, the most important thing is the two matches which we played with the national team, I am concentrating on that, we will see."
On Guardiola, he added: “Everyone knows that he is a great coach, after that, I said the most important thing is to concentrate on the national team."
Manchester United miss out Franco Mastantuono
United target Franco Mastantuono has decided to join Real Madrid, in a blow to the Red Devils’ hopes of signing the Argentine wonderkid. Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in a move for the player.
Reports from Argentina last month claimed United had already stated an intention to pay the young star’s €45 million (£38m) buyout clause. While more recent reports confirmed the Red Devils had held talks with the River Plate ace about a move to Old Trafford this summer. He turns 18 in August and is eligible to join clubs in Europe from then.
The 17-year-old has been with River Plate since 2019, and made his senior debut in January 2024 to become the club’s third-youngest player. Jim Ratcliffe has had a policy of aiming to recruit younger stars to future-proof United’s squad but Madrid have won the race for Mastantuono.
Fabrizio Romano reported: “Real Madrid have officially informed River Plate of their agreement on every contract detail with Franco Mastantuono. Club to club negotiations underway. His dream move is imminent: Real Madrid.”
