Ruud van Nistelrooy sack or back failure slammed as Leicester City told 'what a mess'

Leicester City have been slammed over the Ruud van Nistelrooy situation.

The managerial situation at the King Power Stadium is up in the air, with no confirmation that van Nistelrooy will yet lead the club into the new season, as they return to the Championship following relegation from the Premier League.

And former Foxes striker Matty Fryatt admits he’s baffled by it all.

"What a mess it is," Fryatt told the BBC.

"What is it, six weeks since relegation was confirmed and still they are no further along?

"Everyone needs some clarity, the supporters and football club as a whole, because time is ticking."

Not only is van Nistelrooy’s future uncertain, City are also in limbo over PSR.

They have been charged with three alleged breaches of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and if those charges are upheld, the club are expected to be punished by way of a points deduction.

"My only assumption would be that it's because of the financial implications that Ruud is still in charge," Fryatt added.

"Because if he was going to be the manager for next season, you would have thought you would have heard from the club, but there has been nothing, absolutely zero communication, which is baffling to me."
