Federico Chiesa has been a bit of a curious case for Liverpool since his arrival from Juventus in the summer.
Even though the Italy international only cost the Anfield outfit around £12million, he still hasn’t had as much of an impact as most would’ve liked him to.
Chiesa was brought in to try and offer some relief to Mohamed Salah on the right wing, but with the numbers the Egyptian King was putting out this season, it seems like he didn’t really need any help.
Indeed, it was the Italian’s first season in the Premier League, with the quality being a massive step up from the Serie A, but Chiesa’s output should still have been better than it was.

And, even though a Liverpool exit would probably be the best thing for both parties, the Reds are playing hard to get.
Federico Chiesa’s Anfield exit now complicated as Liverpool don’t want to loan him out
Chiesa’s future at Liverpool has had question marks hanging over it for the last couple of months.
It’s evident that Arne Slot doesn’t have as much faith in him as others, such as Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo, but even with this in mind, the Italy international should have been given more chances to prove his worth.
However, as per a fresh report from Dazn reporter Orazio Accomando, it seems like Liverpool are playing hard to get regarding his exit.

This is because Liverpool are not ‘open’ to loaning the Italian out this summer and would prefer a straight sale.
Accomando adds that ‘new contacts’ have been made by AC Milan with Chiesa now ‘open’ to making a return to the Serie A.
“AC Milan new contacts with Liverpool for the loan of Federico Chiesa,” Accomando wrote via his personal X account.
“The former Juve player is open to the transfer, but the negotiations are not very simple because at the moment the Reds are not open to the loan. The interest is there, and we will move forward.”
Liverpool should keep Federico Chiesa for one more season
There’s no denying that Chiesa’s performances this season have been somewhat underwhelming.
Many Liverpool fans have expressed how sorry they have felt for him since his arrival, but as he has shown in previous seasons, there’s plenty of talent still within him.
When England faced Italy in the Euro 2020 final, Chiesa was one of the best players on the pitch, with the winger managing to tear the Three Lions apart with ease.

Indeed, Chiesa falling out of favour with Juventus last season didn’t help matters all that much, but all he needs is that boost of confidence to prove he belongs.
As mentioned, Chiesa only cost the Reds around £12million, so the investment they’ve made into him is hardly a risk.
And, to be quite frank, he deserves to have at least a consistent run of games to see if he can get back into the swing of things next term.
However, if that doesn’t work, that’s when the Anfield outfit should look into a potential January exit for the attacker.
But, for now, despite all the talk around Chiesa’s Liverpool future that has surfaced, it feels like he still deserves a chance to prove his worth.
