Luis Díaz will only consider leaving Liverpool for Barcelona this summer, according to Friday’s edition of [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/).
On Thursday, several claims from the UK stated Liverpool have rejected an approach made by Barcelona for the forward.
Later that day, the Colombia international said he’s in talks with other clubs and Mundo have relayed his comments.
_“I’m very happy at Liverpool, I’ve always said so. Since I arrived on the first day, they’ve treated me very well. We’re in contact with them because we’re talking to clubs, it’s normal. The transfer market is opening, and we’re trying to arrange whatever is best for us,”_ he said.
The 28-year-old said he’s willing to honour his contract if the Reds decide not to extend it beyond 2027.
_“If Liverpool don’t extend our contract, I still have the two years I have left with them, and I’ll be happy to stay there. Now it’s up to them. I’m here to decide and look at what’s best for us and the future,”_ Díaz explained.
The former FC Porto man is the main target for Barcelona and sources close to him have told the newspaper that if he were to leave Liverpool, it’ll only be to join the Catalan club.
Mundo state he’s ‘willing to do everything he can’ to leave Anfield to join Barca. It won’t be easy because Arne Slot wants to keep him, but the attacker will try to get out of the club.
[Marca](http://marca.com/) provide Barcelona’s stance after claims in the UK stated on Thursday that Liverpool have rejected their approach for the South American.
At this moment in time, Barcelona are ‘unfazed’ by the English club’s refusal to sell Díaz.
Marca insist the Anfield club’s rejection doesn’t mean Barca are ‘ruling out his signing’, especially after his latest comments. The Blaugrana aren’t in a rush and views Liverpool’s position as a ‘possible negotiation strategy’.
Whether or that’s the case remains to be seen.
