Man Utd transfer news: Bryan Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen hunt as £34m offer made

Manchester United's summer transfer window is already a rollercoaster ride, and we're just six days in.

The Red Devils hit the ground running, revealing the acquisition of Matheus Cunha as soon as the window swung open on Sunday. United left Wolves with no choice but to let go after triggering the Brazilian forward's hefty £62.5million release clause. Cunha has inked a five-year deal with an option for an extra year, but his official introduction will be held off until after the international break.

Next up on the radar is another Premier League-tested striker: Bryan Mbeumo. The Brentford winger, who netted 20 goals this season, has set his sights on joining United, despite Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham circling. Mbeumo's salary expectations deterred the trio from making a move, but the Red Devils are charging ahead. First, though, they'll need to strike a deal with Brentford and the opening bid has been tabled.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim is still targeting a new striker, with fascinating developments in the pursuit of both Swedish goal machine Viktor Gyokeres at the Portuguese manager's former club Sporting Lisbon and Nigerian marksman Victor Osimhen, who wants out at Napoli. Here's a round-up of the latest transfer buzz from Old Trafford.

Viktor Gyokeres latest

Victor Gyokeres looks to have signalled that he is 'open' to a move to Manchester United, reports the Mirror - despite them not having Champions League football - which was believed to have been a determining factor in his selection of a new club.

The former Coventry frontman has long been expected to leave Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal had been seen as his most likely destination if he did head to the Premier League. But the prospect of a reunion with Ruben Amorim could lure him to the North West rather than North London.

The Portuguese side want around £60million for their star man - which is a £25m reduction on his £85m release clause. And Arsenal are said to now be prioritising Benjamin Sesko rather than Gyokeres.

Brentford knock back initial Mbeumo offer

Manchester United's opening gambit for Mbeumo has been knocked back. The Red Devils put forth £45m upfront plus £10m in potential add-ons, totalling a £55m package.

But the Bees are holding their ground after the 25-year-old winger expressed his desire to join United, despite them not featuring in European football.

Brentford are sticking to their guns with a £60m price tag and cited a current member of Ruben Amorim's squad to justify the asking price - Cunha.

Osimhen bags a whopper £34m Saudi bid

Saudi giants Al-Hilal have offered a jaw-dropping £34m yearly salary to Victor Osimhen after the talk of a potential switch to Manchester United.

The 26-year-old hotshot is on Napoli's sell list this summer following a goal-rich loan stint with Galatasaray, who are also keen to bag him permanently.

The clamour for the Nigerian ace has ramped up among United supporters since Chelsea swooped in and nicked Liam Delap from under their noses.

Now, Osimhen's got a choice on his hands: hold out for United, who've got to flog some players before they can buy, grab the lucrative deal from Al-Hilal, or stay put with Galatasaray – assuming they've got the dosh to make the move permanent.

Mount gets a nudge towards the exit door

Mason Mount of Manchester United looks disappointed

Mason Mount's been given a nudge by ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker to hunt for a new club. Mount, who's had a tough time since his £60m transfer to Old Trafford in 2023, hasn't impressed Parker, despite United gaffer Ruben Amorim being a fan.

"I've said it before, but I just can't ever see him having a key role at Manchester United," Parker dished out to aceodds.com.

"He has no standout qualities and now we're really seeing why Chelsea were happy to let him go."
