Manchester United have snapped up Matheus Cunha and the Brazilian will be expected to make a big impact for Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United simply had to bring in new attacking talent this summer after mustering just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games.
Ruben Amorim needed more quality in the final third and United have now agreed to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
United will pay Cunha’s £62.5million release clause in three instalments, securing the Brazilian’s signature pending formalities.
Cunha represents a major addition to United’s attack and will occupy one of the number 10 positions in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 approach.
The Brazil international hit 15 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League games this past season and will look to bring that quality to Old Trafford.

Wolves star highlights key Matheus Cunha qualities
Cunha has proven himself in the Premier League and United will hope that he can hit the ground running as a result.
United were dazzled by Cunha when he impressed for Wolves against United back in August 2023.

Nearly two years on, United have landed Cunha and are relying on him for a bit of magic in the final third.
Wolves ace Marshall Munetsi has now spoken about Cunha’s quality and the key attributes he provides.
Speaking to SportsBoom, Munetsi noted that Wolves will find it tough without Cunha and must now add depth to Vitor Pereira’s squad.
Munetsi feels Cunha provides two major qualities – creativity and energy.
Those are two attributes United really need right now, with Munetsi clearly rueing Cunha’s departure from Molineux.
“We need depth, no question,” said Munetsi.
“Losing players like Cunha will be tough; he brings creativity and energy. But Wolves can’t rely on one or two players. The system has to evolve, and everyone has to raise their game. Recruitment will be key. But more than that, our mindset has to shift; from survival to competing,” he added.
Roy Keane’s praise for Matheus Cunha
Cunha enjoyed a brilliant season for Wolves, as seen above in the stats provided by Sofascore.
United fans should be excited about Cunha’s arrival and former captain Roy Keane has certainly been impressed.
Speaking on ITV Sport’s coverage of Wolves against West Bromwich Albion in January, Keane heaped praise on Cunha.
“He’s a talented player. He’s lively. Every time he gets the ball you think something’s going to happen,” said Keane.
“Really exciting player, he has the ability to beat players. He’s got that pace, he looks a very natural player off the cuff. I like the look of him, big player,” he added.
If Cunha can bring those qualities to Old Trafford, United fans will be right on board with Keane’s verdict of the former Atletico Madrid ace.
