They were both part of the Arsenal U18s squad that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup in the 2022/23 campaign and now Seb Ferdinand and Osman Kamara are set for their second seasons as full-time U21 players.
The two wingers both signed their first professional contracts last summer but will now be aiming to establish themselves as key players in the starting lineup for Mehmet Ali’s team.
Ferdinand, who usually plays on the right flank and has been used at right-back on occasion, made 12 league appearances for the U21s last season and scored twice, while he was also involved in the EFL Trophy and the UEFA Youth League.
Kamara, most commonly deployed on the left wing, featured ten times for the U21s and scored once and was another who played for the U19s.
Furthermore, Kamara featured for Sierra Leone at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Both players have a lot of ability and they could now receive a real chance to prove themselves, especially if the likes of Ismeal Kabia and Charles Sagoe Jr go on loan.
Given how small the U21 squad is, it is also possible that Ferdinand and Kamara could receive callups to the senior squad at some stage should they sufficiently impress.
The first objective for the pair, though, will be to dominate at U21 level.
