Premier League champions Liverpool are set for a blockbuster summer transfer window - with significant comings and goings at Anfield on the cards.

The 20-time title winners have already secured flying full-back Jeremie Frimpong as a new asset, stepping into Trent Alexander-Arnold's departing shoes. Now, chins are wagging over a rumoured British-record move that might bring the golden boy of German football Florian Wirtz to Anfield. Bayer Leverkusen have been batting away offers, sticking firm so far on their asking price.

Arne Slot's also got his sights on toughening up his back four with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and is looking to inject even more clout up front. On the flip side, there could be some major exits from Anfield, and striker Darwin Nunez's name is in the mix. The future of Luis Diaz remains up in the air, with the Colombian winger still not tying down a new contract with Liverpool amidst whispers of Barcelona loitering.

Here's all the latest transfer talk from English football's most successful club.

Speculation has been rife since the January window that he might pack his bags for either Barcelona or the Saudi Pro League.

With just two years left on his current pledge and no advance on a new scribble, several heavy-hitter clubs globally are sniffing around the fleet-footed star, reports the Mirror.

He stated: "I'm very happy at Liverpool, I've always said so. They've welcomed me very well from day one. We are currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs.

"That's normal given the transfer market that's opening. We're trying to arrange what's best for us. We're talking to clubs, it's normal in the market and we're looking at what's best for us.

"I'm waiting to see what happens. If they (Liverpool) give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I'll be happy. Now it's up to them."

Wirtz saga could drag on

Ex-Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Voller has acknowledged Wirtz's desire to join Liverpool, but cautioned the Reds that the move might "take a while".

Liverpool have already had two offers turned down by the German club for Wirtz, with negotiations still underway to secure the signature of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.

Voller - who stepped down as Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director in 2022 after a 17-year tenure - provided some insight into the talks, stating: "It's no secret that he'd like to go to Liverpool.

"I know the clubs are negotiating with each other,' 'It's often the case that it takes a while until an agreement is finally reached.

"Of course, in the end, you have the feeling it will go through. Florian Wirtz has proven that he is a very, very valuable player. Not only for Bayer Leverkusen but also for the national team. That's why he costs a few euros more."

Hungary's national squad boss Marco Rossi has let slip that Milos Kerkez is set to skip the upcoming friendly against Sweden, as whispers of his switch to Liverpool gain steam.

The Bournemouth defender was tipped to take the field against the Swedes but took a pass on Thursday's training, even though he was bunkered down with the national side.

Rossi revealed: "Of course, a few problems may creep in, for example, for various reasons, neither Milos Kerkez nor Barnabas Varga will be in tomorrow's match."

Looks like Kerkez couldn't resist dropping a cheeky hint that his move to the Kop might just be round the corner, slapping a post with a pair of eye emojis on Instagram.

He's already given the thumbs up to the Reds, who've been itching to shake hands on a £40m deal to snag him from the Cherries.
