Matheus Cunha played his first match for Brazil since leaving Wolves to join Manchester United in the early hours of Friday morning.
Cunha completed his transfer to Manchester United on Sunday after months of speculation over his future at Molineux.
It was in March that Cunha announced he wanted to leave Wolves, and since then, he has pushed hard for an exit, with a move to Old Trafford his preferred destination.
The 26-year-old got his dream after finalising his £62.5 million transfer, and Wolves were happy that Cunha’s move was completed as quickly as possible.
The Brazilian will join up with all of his United teammates in pre-season, but for now, he’s currently on international duty with Casemiro and Antony.

Wolves midfielders Andre and Joao Gomes were snubbed from Carlo Ancelotti’s first Brazil squad, while Cunha was named but started on the bench against Ecuador.
Ancelotti selected Tottenham forward Richarlison to lead the line in the World Cup Qualifier, as the South American giants were held to a goalless draw.
Cunha replaced Richarlison in the 64th minute of the match but was ultimately unable to provide the winning moment. He recorded just seven passes, zero attempts on goal and lost possession six times.

As a result, Brazilian media outlet GE rated Cunha a 5.5/10, writing: “Just like Martinelli, he entered the game at a time when Brazil was not producing much. In the first play, he made a great run down the right, but then failed to be efficient offensively.”
By the looks of it, Brazil endured a night to forget in Ancelotti’s first match, and they must improve when they host Paraguay next Wednesday.
Wolves already eyeing Matheus Cunha replacement
Wolves need a ‘technically gifted’ player to replace Cunha, as highlighted by former star Dave Edwards, and there are a couple of players on their radar.
Molineux News exclusively revealed that Roger Fernandes is of interest to Wolves after his productive campaign for SC Braga.
Wolves are also considering a move for Evan Guessand from OGC Nice, who registered 23 goal involvements for the French side last term.
Meanwhile, the Old Gold have also been linked to Bilal El Khannouss following his relegation with Leicester City, and he could be a long-term option to fill Cunha’s void.
It will be interesting to see how Pereira replaces his talisman, as the influence of Jorge Mendes on transfers could play its part once more.
