Samuel Iling-Junior
Aston Villa winger Samuel Iling-Junior will be representing England under 21s this summer after being confirmed in Lee Carsley's final squad which is set to head off to Slovakia for their European Championship title defence.
Iling-Junior signed for Villa last summer, along with Enzo Barrenechea, from Juventus for around £11m, but he was loaned back to Serie A, and Villa's Champions League opponents, Bologna having failed to make the Villa squad in the first couple of Premier League games.
Iling-Junior was recalled in January and sent to Championship outfit Middlesbrough, where he played 16 times, scoring once in a win over Blackburn Rovers, and impressing under the now departed Michael Carrick.
The winger's future, though, remains uncertain. Much like Barrenchea, who has spent the season at Valencia in Spain, he is expected to report for pre-season later this summer and Unai Emery will run the rule over him before deciding on whether to integrate him into his Premier League squad or, instead, find another club who'll take Iling-Junior on loan again.
That decision may now have to wait a little longer; England under 21s, who also have the likes of Harvey Elliott, James McAtee and Jobe Bellingham in their side, play three group games against Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany all by the 18th of June - their campaign will of course run later should they progress.
In that event, Iling-Junior's summer will be extended, and his summer break will be delayed, as would his return to Bodymoor Heath ahead of the Lions' latest pre-season tour of the US which kicks off in July.
