Liverpool confirms retained list as seven players set for release

Liverpool has confirmed the departure of seven academy players as part of it annual retained list.

The Reds annoucned Dominic Corness, Louis Enahoro-Marcus, Harry Evers, Lee Jonas, Jakub Ojrzynski, Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman have all left the club.

Of that group, only Ojrzynski, Poytress and Trueman - all of whom are goalkeepers - didn't play regularly last season at Under-21 or Under-18 level. Ojrzynski was last season playing on loan in the Swedish second tier.

"Everyone at Liverpool would like to thank them for their contributions and wish them the best for the future," the club said via a statement as the news was confirmed.

Meanwhile, contracts have been offered to Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Michael Laffey, Wellity Lucky, Terence Miles and Ranel Young.

The retained list will be released by every Premier League club in due course, although Liverpool has announced its before the majority of its Premier League rivals.

While not mentioned by the club in Friday's update, Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be included after departing the club to join Real Madrid.

Caoimhin Kelleher will also be absent from the roster after he secured a move to Brentford this week for up to £18milliion ($24M).

Of those who have been offered new contract, Ahmed scored six goals in 19 league fixtures last season for the Under-18s.

Airoboma is capable of playing at right-back or center-back, while Figueroa is the son of former Wigan Athletic left-back, Maynor.

Nineteen-year-old Kelly is pushing into the Under-21s, Laffey is a boyhood Red from Fazakerley, and Lucky played every minute at center-back in Liverpool's 2024/25 Uefa Youth League campaign.

Miles is another youth capture from the local area, while Young was twice included on the bench for senior games last season.
