Antony sent powerful five-word message ahead of Brazil’s World Cup qualifier vs Ecuador, he didn’t even come off bench

Manchester United and Real Betis player Antony made his feelings perfectly clear ahead of Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador on Friday.

Antony left Old Trafford during the January transfer window and the 25-year-old Brazilian attacker spent the second half of the 2024-25 season out on loan.

Real Betis signed Antony from Manchester United in a six-month loan deal and the La Liga outfit reportedly agreed to cover the majority of his wages during his spell.

Antony had struggled to establish himself in the United first team and the former Ajax star fell further down the pecking order under Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.

However, the Brazil international sparked a career revival at Betis and Antony impressed at times for the La Liga outfit after his January loan move.

Antony played in 26 matches for the Spanish side and the United winger netted nine times and registered five assists for Manuel Pellegrini’s men last season.

Man Utd and Real Betis star Antony sent a message before Brazil’s 0-0 draw vs Ecuador in their World Cup qualifier

Antony’s resurgence in form at Real Betis earned him a call-up for the Brazil international team under former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti was appointed the new head coach of the five-time World Cup champions after the end of Los Blancos’ 2024-25 campaign.

Antony has been capped 16 times for Brazil and the former Ajax winger scored twice and picked up two assists for the national team so far.

Ancelotti took charge of his first match as Brazil manager on Friday and his side faced Ecuador in their World Cup qualifier at the Estadio Monumental.

Antony was on the bench for the match and Ancelotti left the Manchester United loanee as an unused substitute for the 0-0 draw against Ecuador.

The Real Betis attacker was spotted sharing a photo of his Brazil top, featuring the number 11 on the back, and Antony shared a message on his Instagram Stories.

“May God bless us all,” he wrote, adding a praying emoji.
