Everton are set to see multiple stars leave Merseyside this summer as they prepare for a summer of change.

Ahead of the Toffees’ move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, David Moyes is looking to be active in the transfer market.

Everton have already seen Abdoulaye Doucoure depart with his deal set to expire at the end of June.

However, it isn’t only the Toffees who are losing players, with Merseyside rivals Liverpool also having to wave goodbye to some of their stars.

Jake O’Brien likes Caoimhin Kelleher’s post about leaving Liverpool

On the Red side of Merseyside, Premier League champions Liverpool are preparing to defend their title.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Arne Slot’s side have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and now want to seal the signing of Florian Wirtz.

However, departures are necessary to fund this expenditure, and Caoimhin Kelleher has subsequently been sold to Brentford.

The Irishman was highly rated at the Reds, and Liverpool News (7 May) reported that West Ham were also in the race for his signature before he moved to the Bees.

Now, the 26-year-old has posted a goodbye message on his Instagram (4 June), thanking the club and the fans for his time at Liverpool.

As a result, fellow Irishman and Everton star Jake O’Brien reacted to the post with a like, despite him formerly playing for the Reds.

The Toffees star wasn’t the only player to react, with Trent Alexander-Arnold commenting: “Good luck brother.”

Former Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa also reacted by sending multiple clapping emojis.

Everton need to speed up their transfer business

As it stands, Everton have not signed any new players so far in the transfer window.

This is despite the Toffees being linked to multiple players, many of which they have now missed out on to other Premier League clubs.

Everton simply cannot afford to wait around and must quickly start making moves before they are left behind.

Hopefully, Moyes is preparing to make some signings over the next couple of weeks, and the Everton faithful are not going to wait until late in the window to see reinforcements arrive.
