In São Paulo, Brazil and Bandung, Indonesia, our partnership has supported two inspiring community project centres in collaboration with NGO partners Fundacao Gol de Letra and Rumah Cemara.
Across both locations, Midea has donated 65 home appliances to enhance the community spaces where Young Leaders participate in football-based education and youth development workshops.
These product donations have helped support community spaces into welcoming environments where Young Leaders and the wider community can come together.
In Bandung, Midea Indonesia has provided participants Midea home appliances including washing machines, air conditioners and water dispensers, which have helped make football sessions more comfortable and accessible. At Rumah Cemara, Midea’s kitchen appliances have also supported the community cafe, which provides meals for both the Young Leaders and local children.
Shilpi, Project Manager at Rumah Cemara, explains: “Some of the products donated by Midea Indonesia, such as water dispensers and air conditioners, are so useful for us because the product support from Midea makes the Young Leaders feel comfortable as if in their own homes.”
In Sao Paulo, Midea also donated a wide variety of home appliances, including washing machines to help Gol de Letra Foundation clean football kits used during community sessions. During a recent community festival in Vila Albertina, Midea Brazil staff also provided items such as fans and other appliances to support local families.
Laura, a Young Leader from São Paulo, said: “Participating in the project with Manchester City and Midea has been incredible. I’ve learned that leadership is about understanding and supporting how children think and learn.”
These efforts form part of a wider shared mission between Midea and Manchester City to use football as a platform to empower healthier lives for city youth, helping young people feel supported and at home wherever they play.
