2026 NFL Draft Summer Scouting: 3 OT Names for Cleveland Browns Fans to Know

The Cleveland Browns head into the 2025 season with question marks at left tackle and the long-term plan at right tackle. Veteran right tackle Jack Conklin has struggled with injuries and will be a free agent after the season. The team is hoping that former fourth-round pick Dawand Jones, who has slimmed down, can take the left tackle job long-term, but I'm not confident he can.

Either way, the Browns will need to add a young tackle in the 2026 NFL Draft; whether it is a left tackle or a right tackle, we will figure out after the season. The good news is the right tackle class has a ton of potential, and some left tackles have the upside to lock down that side as well, based on early summer scouting. This year's class should be much better overall than last year's weaker class. Let's take a look at three offensive tackle prospects Browns fans should get to know and keep an eye on this college football season.

Kadyn Proctor, LT Alabama

Alabama left tackle Kadyn Proctor is a massive human at 6-foot-7 and 370 lbs. The thing that stands out most when I watch his tape is his ridiculous athleticism for a man of that size. It shouldn't be possible for someone to move as well as he does at 370 lbs; it's fun to watch.

Proctor could be the most physically gifted tackle in this year's class but his technique needs some real work. He combines raw physical power and excellent movement skills, making him a fantastic pass protector. He can win against both power and speed rushers but struggles with more refined rushers with a deep bag of pass-rush moves because of his technique issues.

His hand placement and pad level are inconsistent, and that causes him to be less effective as a run blocker than you'd think with someone his size. Now, he is fantastic when he has good technique in both facets of the game. He needs to clean up his technique. One reason for hope was he made some significant improvements between his 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Another appealing aspect of Proctor as a prospect is that he's about to turn 20. He will be 21 his entire rookie year with three years of starting experience at left tackle in the SEC.
