
Newcastle United have released their [retained list](https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/newcastle-united-announces-2025-26-retained-list) ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Starting with outgoings, the club have confirmed that Jamal Lewis will depart once his contract expires on June 30th, seeing the former Norwich City talent become a free agent almost five years on from a £15m move.
Lloyd Kelly’s permanent transfer to Juventus will also be activated on June 30th for an ‘undisclosed fee’, seeing the club make a quick profit on last summer’s free agent signing.
Callum Wilson and John Ruddy are both out of contract at the end of the month, but the club have announced that talks are taking place with both over their futures, revealing that ‘new contracts could still be agreed.’
Mark Gillespie has been retained, with Newcastle activating an option to keep the back-up goalkeeper for a further season.
Elsewhere, defensive trio Fabian Schär, Emil Krafth and Dan Burn are all under contract after extensions were announced for all three during the 2024/25 season.
It is not mentioned in the club’s statement, but Jamaal Lascelles and Sean Longstaff – previously out of contract in 2025 – but options to extend both of their deals by 12 months were activated the club last season, meaning they are both under contract until 2026.
The club also reveal that a retained list for Newcastle United’s Academy talents will also be released in due course.
