Exclusive: Arsenal think their 'scary' player will sign new contract soon after Gabriel Magalhaes

TBR Football can exclusively reveal the latest on the contracts of Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly at Arsenal.

The Gunners confirmed that Gabriel Magalhaes has put pen to paper on a new deal that is set to keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.

The Brazilian has been at the Emirates for nearly five years now, and he has established himself as one of the best in the business.

Arsenal are glad to have tied Gabriel down to a new deal, but the job is not done. TBR understands that he is just the first of five contracts Andrea Berta wants to sort out as soon as possible.

The latest on Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri’s Arsenal contracts

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has shared what’s going on with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contracts at Arsenal

The two wonderkids have established themselves as first-team players and have just had their breakthrough season. They were both fantastic.

Arsenal have been working hard to tie them down to new deals as both players’ current contracts will expire in July 2026.

Bailey has revealed that Lewis-Skelly’s new deal should be completed in the coming weeks, but things are not going to plan with Nwaneri.

Speaking about Lewis-Skelly, who was hailed as a ‘scary’ talent by Saka, Bailey said: “Of the four players, Lewis-Skelly is by far the most advanced, I am told. There is a firm belief that the deal is not too far away at all, and it should be completed within the month.”

When asked about the other teenage sensation at Arsenal, he said: “As we have revealed in recent weeks, there is real worry at Arsenal about Nwaneri. He grew concerned about his game time, and the five-year deal on the table has remained unsigned.

“Work to be done on that one. A lot of work”

What’s going on with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba’s Arsenal contracts?

Berta has been working tirelessly to get several contracts sorted since he arrived.

Gabriel’s deal is done, and as Bailey said above, work is going on to tie down Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly to long-term deals too.

Berta’s most important task, however, will be to keep Bukayo Saka and William Saliba at the club beyond the end of their current deals in 2027.

Speaking about them, Bailey said: “Saka and Saliba are very similar in that they both have held talks. Both are keen to be made the highest-paid players at the club, and Arsenal are willing to sanction that.

“That being said, those two deals are not close to being signed. I don’t think it can be described as a worry at this point, but Arsenal and Berta are putting some real effort into those two. There really are no more important deals to Arsenal in the long term than that of Saka and Saliba.

“As said, Arsenal remain confident with them all. Gabriel is a very good start, but getting the others done is now a big thing for the club.”
