**A new update has emerged regarding the future of Liverpool winger Ben Doak, with Everton manager David Moyes reportedly seeing him as a No.1 target this summer.**
The Reds have a key decision to make regarding the 19-year-old, having loaned him out to Middlesbrough during the 2024/25 season.
Liverpool have a plethora of attacking talent in their ranks and are likely to add quality in that area this summer, so they may decide to move Doak on.
The Scotland international has been linked with a shock move to rivals Everton this week, which may not go down well at Anfield, and now a new update has emerged.
According to [_TEAMtalk_](https://www.teamtalk.com/everton/transfer-news-line-up-move-liverpool-star-david-moyes-loves-15m-hurdle-remains), Blues boss Moyes is desperate to see sign Doak ahead of next season, with the Scot a “huge admirer” of his compatriot.
He considers the winger a “leading” target at this point, as Everton look to seal a piece of business that would reverberate around the Premier League.
**Don’t sell Doak to Everton, Liverpool!**
------------------------------------------
While Doak may not have a future at Liverpool, selling him to Everton would feel like a needless risk, should he turn into a superstar there in the coming years.
The teenager certainly has an enormous amount of potential, with former Blues man [James McFadden](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2024/10/13/liverpool-ben-doak-praise-scotland-vs-croatia/) heaping praise on his impact for Scotland, saying:
_“When he gets into the final third, he can’t get it right every time, but he is a threat. We mentioned his age and bringing that freshness, you think it’s going to be raw because we’ve not seen a lot of him. But he’s making good decisions to hold his position and run in behind and not getting too excited and rushing things.”_
It may still be that Liverpool see a future for Doak, seeing him as the perfect understudy to Mohamed Salah moving forward, but he will quickly need to become a more polished and consistent all-round footballer for that to happen.
Cashing in on him feels like a sensible option, despite his ceiling as a player, but a move to Everton needs to be avoided, allowing him to head elsewhere instead, amid plenty of interest in him.
