Report: Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United latest, Ineos stance on deal with new bid imminent

The summer transfer window’s first stage is open for another four days, with Manchester United looking to get another deal done.

Teams have had a rare transfer period to work within over the past six days before the window shuts again briefly on June 10th.

Manchester United have already made the most of this, agreeing to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves for his release clause worth £62.5m over three years.

This, however, will not be enough for Ineos to win fans over, and so further additions are already being worked on. In prior years, United were notoriously slow in the transfer market, but now a second deal could be close to completion.

Now, with Cunha already in the bag, move number two is progressing.

Manchester United planning second bid for Bryan Mbeumo

Signing Cunha was a massive upgrade on the players currently at Old Trafford, but now Bryan Mbeumo could be yet another drastic improvement.

The Brentford star is one of the Premier League’s best, and Mbeumo has chosen United for his summer move, with a transfer fee all that remains. United saw a bid rejected for Mbeumo earlier this week worth £45m plus £10m in add-ons, and a follow-up is now imminent.

Now, it has been reported by the Daily Mirror that United are preparing a second and final offer to Brentford for Mbeumo, which will be a take it or leave it bid.

United are expected to offer £55m plus £5m in bonuses for Mbeumo, which is a figure that the Red Devils are hopeful will be accepted by the Bees, and the signing of the 25-year-old can then be completed.

Brentford’s valuation is said to start at £60m, and so this offer will surely be tempting for the west London side.

How will Ruben Amorim use Bryan Mbeumo?

Signing a player like Mbeumo, with his suitability to the Premier League already proven, is the way forward for United and Ruben Amorim. As shown by Mbeumo’s 2024-25 statistics on SofaScore, he is an all-action attacker who will add goals and creativity to the team.

Mbeumo is a clear fit for Amorim’s right-sided number 10 position with his powerful ball carrying, creativity, and speed all likely to mean he will be among the goals often next season if the deal is completed.

This would see Amad move permanently to right wing-back, giving United a very dangerous pairing on that side who can both create and score goals. Defences won’t know what hit them.

If Mbeumo can match his 20-goal return for United next season, the signing will almost certainly be considered a success, but we think he will get even more.
