It’s hard to talk about the NFL and its history without mentioning the Dallas Cowboys.
This team has gone through a lot throughout the years and has been home to some of the best players of all time.
Emmitt Smith, Roger Staubach, Michael Irvin, Tony Dorsett, and Larry Allen are just a few of the most legendary players to suit up for this organization.
Playing for the Cowboys is generally seen as an honor, especially since they are “America’s Team” and have an incredibly loyal and vast fan base.
With that in mind, the fanbase is currently rallying around a former player, Tom Rafferty.
Rafferty recently passed away at the age of 70, as the “Dallas Morning News” noted on X.

Rafferty played in the NFL for a long time, and as this article notes, he played with both Troy Aikman and Staubach.

Rafferty was known for a lot throughout his career, but his character seemed to be the sticking point for his teammates and the people who knew him best.
That type of athlete isn’t necessarily common in today’s NFL, and his passing is a reminder to everyone to be kind to those around you, and that playing the game the right way can take a person a lot further than they ever realized.
