Manchester United’s attacking rebuild has entered a crucial phase as the club begins ramping up transfer activity ahead of pre-season.
Ruben Amorim is keen on reshaping his front line after a disappointing league campaign, with Matheus Cunha already secured from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal.
The Brazilian is expected to bring versatility and flair, but United are still searching for an out-and-out striker after losing out on Liam Delap, who snubbed them in favour of a move to Chelsea.

That setback has thrown the club’s plans into flux, with Victor Osimhen no longer seen as a viable option due to stylistic concerns and a price tag that would exceed €75 million, as per ESPN.
Instead, Manchester United have stepped up efforts to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
The 24-year-old forward has made it clear he prefers a switch to Old Trafford over Newcastle United, handing United an advantage in negotiations.
However, Brentford are playing hardball after watching United splash £62.5 million on Cunha, and believe Mbeumo — younger and fresh from a 20-goal Premier League season — should command a similar or higher fee.
At this stage, the two clubs remain apart in their valuations, and no deal is imminent.

Mbeumo is seen as a flexible option in the final third, capable of playing wide or centrally, but there are internal concerns that neither he nor Cunha will fully solve the No.9 issue.
Even so, Amorim is believed to be open to a fluid attacking setup, rather than relying on a traditional centre-forward.
The manager’s influence is key in shaping recruitment, which partly explains the decision to walk away from Victor Osimhen.
While the Napoli striker enjoyed a loan spell in Turkey with Galatasaray last season, sources indicate Amorim doesn’t see him as the right fit for United’s system.
For now, Mbeumo remains the prime focus — but unless Brentford lower their demands, the Red Devils might be forced to pivot once again in their striker search.
