Back in March, claims from France credited Manchester United with interest in Lille star Jonathan David.
There haven’t been concrete claims regarding Red Devils interest since then, and they haven’t moved for the player.
The striker will leave the Ligue 1 club when his contract expires on June 30th and needs to find a new club for next season. If it were up to David, he would prefer a move to one of three clubs, including Manchester United, this summer.
That’s according to Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, who state the 25-year-old has Manchester United, Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain as his priorities.
His preference is to make a switch to the Premier League, indicating Ruben Amorim’s side are ahead of Barca and PSG in his thinking.
Unfortunately for the Canada international, Manchester United haven’t made any advances to sign him even though he’s available on a free transfer. Corriere dello Sport point out the big clubs have already strengthened or changed strategies.
Napoli have put his signing on hold and his supporter at Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi, has left the San Siro. Juventus have been courting David and can take advantage of the lack of action from elsewhere.
The newspaper states Juve will soon formulate an offer, and David may have to settle for Italy, after hoping for a move to England.
